Ziegler Has Harsh Words For Democrats After Trump’s Acquittal
A Sarasota County commissioner and MAGA supporter celebrated former President Donald Trump's second impeachment acquittal on social media.

SARASOTA COUNTY, FL — Christian Ziegler, vice chairman of both the Sarasota County Commission and the Republican Party of Florida, took to social media to celebrate former President Donald Trump’s second impeachment acquittal Saturday.
In a 57 to 43 vote, the U.S. Senate found Trump not guilty of inciting the violent Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riot in which five people died. Though seven Republican senators found the former president guilty, 67 total guilty votes were needed to convict him.
Ziegler used profanity on Facebook and Twitter to share a harsh message for Democrats.

“Tough S--- Democrats! I’d say that it’s time to get back to Governing, but y’all can’t do that right either,” Ziegler posted to Facebook Saturday afternoon.
He also tweeted, “NOW we unleash President Trump to hold the spineless accountable. (I am referring to elections, not violence…I don’t need to face a faux impeachment either).”

The MAGA supporter also called the impeachment “a dragged out event with a pre-determined outcome.”

Ziegler was in Washington, D.C., Jan. 6 attending President Trump’s rally before the U.S. Capitol riot broke out.
“The President had a rally. I arrived at that toward the end of it, but I was there for about 15 or 20 minutes while he was speaking and I could tell you there were hundreds of thousands of people, it was overwhelmingly peaceful, then they led a march down Constitution Avenue from basically the White House all the way to the Capitol. That was peaceful, but then when they got to the Capitol, that is when the issues kind of started,” he told 8 On Your Side in January.
The county commissioner slammed the violence at the Capitol on social media, calling for those who breached the building to be identified.
In a tweet, he indicated his approval for “Peaceful Protests, Marches & Rallies to make sure your voice is heard.”
Ziegler also said that “storming the Capitol with no productive outcome is Antifa-ish and destruction of property (and) violence is never OK…I get people are angry, but focus on being productive by getting involved locally now to make change for the future.”
