2 Tampa Bay Towns Make Prettiest Cities In South List

The South has no shortage of spectacular views, from sunny beaches to historic towns and sweeping farmlands. Southern Living Magazine narrowed down the choices to 15, and two Tampa Bay cities made the cut: Sarasota (No. 5) and St. Petersburg (No. 11).

The Prettiest Cities ranking was part of the magazine's South's Best 2018, decided on by 32,000 readers.

"Quirky college cities, lazy beach towns, historic coastal hubs, and bustling metropolises make up the pulsing heart and the pretty façade of the South," said Southern Living in describing the winners.

Among a diverse selection of cities like Asheville, North Carolina, Charleston, South Carolina and San Antonio, Texas, Sarasota and St. Petersburg were the only cities on the list from Florida. It's no surprise that the cities made the list since they are both considered ideal vacation spots.
