34th Street Improvement Plan Taking Shape
The revitalization plan will focus on 34th Street S between 30th Avenue and 54th Avenue South in St. Petersburg.

Hoping to revitalize 34th Street S. between 30 Avenue to 54th Avenue South, St. Petersburg city leaders, businesses, property owners and neighborhood leaders have started to create a 34th Street corridor plan.Â
According to city documents, the goal is to, "produce a plan that will create opportunities for development desired b the community and facilitate investment within the corridor."
Connectivity of this corridor with commercial waterfront properties to the south will also be explored, the city said.Â

The 34th Street Corridor plan will also incorporate, "strategies for economic development, transportation, streetscape, site development and marketing."
According to the city, the plan will be completed by the end of 2013.Â

Public input is solicited for the plan. Â
A steering committee has been formed to help guide the planning process and create the final plan acceptable to the entire community, the city said. Â
To learn more about the plan and provide input, there is a public meeting at 7 p.m., April 23 at the SPC Allstate Center, 3200 34th St. S.
