77-Year-Old St. Pete Man Killed In Single Vehicle Crash

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 77-year-old St. Petersburg man has died following a single-car accident on Interstate 275 south of Gandy Boulevard.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, on Wednesday at 3:15 p.m. the man was driving a van south on I-275 when he lost control and collided with two concrete light poles and a traffic sign before overturning.

He wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the van. He died at the scene.
