CatCon DogFest Features Day of Animal-Themed Events
The event benefits Friends of Strays Animal Shelter of St. Petersburg.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – The spring season in the Tampa Bay area is known for festivals of all shapes and sizes, from art and music festivals to beer and beach festivals. The Friends of Strays Animal Shelter is trying something a bit different.
In an effort to raise money for its no-kill animal shelter, Friends of Strays will host CatCon DogFest on Saturday, May 7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club, 559 Mirror Lake Drive N. This animal-themed festival will feature:
- Approximately 30 artists and vendors selling services and products for both pets and people
- A presentation by the St. Petersburg Police Department K9 Unit
- Flyball demonstrations from the Dog Training Club of St. Petersburg
- A Kitten Play Zone
- The Vanchetta Food Truck
- Beer from St. Pete Brewing Company
- Music by DJ re:Pete
Also, for a donation, dogs attending the event can participate in the Lure Chase from Whatadog Play Center and Radar Recall by To the Rescue Dog Training.
General admission tickets are $10 per person and children age 10 and younger are free. VIP tickets are $25 per person and includes a CatCon DogFest goodie bag, access to the VIP Lounge and a drink ticket. Click here to order tickets online.
