Coast Guard Rescues Man in St. Pete

The U.S. Coast Guard rescued a 49-year-old man Wednesday from his 32-foot sailboat in Tampa Bay.

According to authorities, the owner of the boat 'Hasta Luego', contacted the Coast Guard at 10:27 a.m. He told authorities he was alone, suffering chest pains and in need of medical assistance.

According to the Coast Guard, the rescue team arrived at 10:42 a.m. and transported the man to Bayfront Medical Center. 

"This case is a great example of how quickly responders can arrive on scene to assist when boaters have the proper communication equipment on board their vessel," said Petty Officer 1st Class Jonathan Pankey, a search and rescue coordinator at the sector, in a news release.
