Cops Reunite Dog, Autistic Girl in Time for Her 6th Birthday
The little French bulldog went missing the night before the child's birthday.

When Broward County Sheriff’s deputies heard that a little Oakland Park girl might have to celebrate her birthday without her beloved service dog Sampson, they swung into action.
Deputies Mitchell Lyden and Bob Saintlien, along with Capt. Tally Brown, heard from the child’s mother, Tiffany Khuzkian, that she came home Sept. 5 to find her front door wide open and Sampson missing. The year-old French bulldog is her daughter, Maddie’s service dog, the sheriff’s office Facebook page said.
“Because French bulldogs can be susceptible to heat stroke, she was especially worried about his well-being on a hot South Florida day,” deputies wrote.

Understanding that Maddie, who turned 6 on Sept. 6 and has autism, needed her dog, the three deputies took time out from chasing bad guys to track down Sampson.
“They did it with integrity, grace and, most of all, compassion,” Khuzkian in a letter of thanks to the agency. “My prayers and support have always been with BSO, but the men and women of District 12 will forever also have my heart.”

Police in Florida have been making headlines as of late for acts of kindness such as this. A patrolman in Fort Myers recently braved lightning to help a man stranded in a motorized wheelchair. Random acts of kindness haven’t been limited to police either. A Publix employee’s photo went viral after he took time out to tie an elderly man’s shoes.
