Donate Food At Roberto Clemente Day, Get Free 2022 Rays Tickets

It's time for fans to pack the pantries Friday for Feeding Tampa when our Tampa Bay boys play the Detroit Tigers at the Tropicana Field.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL ? The Tampa Bay Rays are hosting a food drive Friday in honor of Roberto Clemente Day at the Tropicana Field.

Every year, Major League Baseball celebrates the philanthropic efforts of the late Pittsburgh Pirates player and Hall of Famer, Roberto Clemente. He died in a plane crash on New Year's Eve 1972 while flying supplies to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. MLB annually presents the Roberto Clemente Award to recognize the player who best represents the game of baseball through sportsmanship, community involvement and positive contributions, both on and off the field. Club nominees for this prestigious award are announced on Roberto Clemente Day each year.

Fans can participate in Roberto Clemente Day by attending Friday's baseball game in addition to dropping off canned food outside gate 1 in lot 7 or gate 4 from 5 ? 7:30 p.m. Food donations will go to Feeding Tampa Bay.

Each household that donates in person at Tropicana Field will receive a ticket voucher valid for two (2) lower reserved tickets to a 2022 Rays home game. One voucher per household. Some exclusions apply.
