Rescue Workers Unite to Save Trapped Dog
The critter fell into a concrete drainage canal.

Firefighters don’t just rescue kittens stuck in trees. They’ll also climb down to save a pooch trapped in a drainage canal.
At least that was the case Monday in Pinellas Park.
Members of the city’s fire department swung into action just after noon when the Pinellas Park Police Department called on them to help save a dog that had fallen into a concrete drainage canal along 82nd Avenue.

Believing the dog had a broken leg, they quickly used a ladder to climb down and put a harness on the pooch so it could be brought up. Working together two police, the firefighters were able to raise the dog to safety.
The SPCA was also on hand to take custody of the dog for evaluation. It is unclear at this time if the dog’s leg was truly broken.

Tampa Bay area emergency workers have been making headlines as of late by showing their pledge to serve doesn’t just extend to humans. In Tampa, a similar rescue was conducted recently when a dog fell into the Hillsborough River. A Sarasota deputy also went above and beyond to save a kitten who found itself caught in traffic along a busy road.
