History Museum Seeks Photos of Cuba for Exhibit

Local residents asked to contribute to Experience Cuba exhibit.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Tampa Bay area residents who have personal photos of Cuba – both new and old – are invited to be a part of the Experience Cuba exhibit at the St. Petersburg Museum of History.

The multi-faceted exhibition will celebrate the history, the beauty and the culture of the island nation. Experience Cuba is scheduled to open Wednesday, June 15 and will feature “Cuba, The Natural Beauty – The Photography of Clyde Butcher,” as well as original artwork of Cuban artists Ibrahim Miranda and Los Carpinteros.

The museum is seeking photographs from Tampa Bay area residents that spotlight the history and culture of Cuba. For the History category, the museum is seeking family photos and stories of life in Cuba. For the Culture category, the museum is seeking present-day images of the people, places and activities in Cuba, from cars to the baseball fans waiting to see the Tampa Bay Rays this past spring.
