Man, 50, Killed In St. Pete Stabbing

A 50-year-old man died following a Sunday evening stabbing in the 600 block of 28th Avenue South.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — St. Petersburg Police are investigating a Sunday evening stabbing that left a 50-year-old man dead.

According to the agency, the stabbing occurred just after 6 p.m. Oct. 8 in the 600 block of 28th Avenue South. Authorities say an argument that had been ongoing between Adrian Demetrious Johnson and Wayman Swilley, 39, erupted in violence. Swilley, police say, stabbed Johnson. Johnson was taken to a local hospital following the incident, but died from his injuries.

Police say Swilley stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. An arrest has not been made, pending the outcome of the investigation.
