Man Killed In Single-Truck Crash On I-275 In St. Pete: Police

A resident of St. Petersburg died Wednesday afternoon when his truck crashed into a tree near 22nd Avenue South and I-275, cops said.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 60-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate-275 in St. Petersburg Wednesday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The victim was headed northbound on I-275 in the inside lane toward 22nd Avenue South. Troopers said at 12:45 p.m., the driver lost control of his pickup truck. The truck went into the median and crashed into a tree.

He was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, investigators said. He was a St. Pete resident.
