'March Madness At The Opera' Schedules Pop-Up Performances

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Live opera returns to the city in a socially distant way with the St. Petersburg Opera's POPera performances in March.

"POPera: March Madness at the Opera" includes powerful selections from Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Bizet, Verdi, Rossini and many other notable names in the 85-minute performance. Opera fans can enjoy performances outside at Cage Brewing with a craft beer or wine, or if you would rather be indoors, Opera Central is hosting a couple of shows with limited indoor socially distanced seating.

Opera singers for March's performances include Eric Ferring, Linda Holloway, Sarah Nordin, Tyler Putnam, Chris Romeo and accompanist Constantine Grame.

If You Go, These Are The Coronavirus Safety Precautions In Place:

  • Temperature checks will be conducted upon entry at Opera Central, 2145 First Ave S., St. Pete
  • Masks must be worn
  • A minimum of 7 feet between tables and 15 feet of distance from the stage to the first row of tables
  • Cage Brewing, 2001 1st Ave S., St. Pete, an outdoor, covered venue requires masks to be worn and social distancing.

Performances are scheduled at Opera Central, March 25 and March 26, 8 p.m.

Cage Brewing performances take place March 27, 4 p.m., and March 28, 2 p.m.
