Motorcyclist in Serious Condition After Crash

St. Petersburg Police said a motorcyclists has life-threatening injuries following a crash.

A St. Petersburg man is in serious condition at Bayfront Medical Center after a crash on Aug. 15. 

According to St. Petersburg Police, Christopher Sawyer was northbound on Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Street North in the median lane on his motorcycle.

Police said a car, driven by 24-year-old Amanda Forgy, was exiting the parking lot on the east side of Dr Martin Luther King Jr Street in the 7900 block. 

At that time, police said Forgy pulled into the path of Sawyer and was struck on the left front fender.

Sawyer, police said, "vaulted into the windshield of the sedan, over the roof and landed on the pavement."

Police said Sawyer was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. He was transported to Bayfront with life-threatening injuries. 

Forgy and her two adult passengers suffered minor injuries were also transported to Bayfront, police said. 

The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. Aug. 15.
