No Trash Pickup Monday, City Offices Closed
St. Petersburg Trash Pickup Changes, Warm Weather, White Wardrobes, National Skyscraper Day and Labor Day Facts are five things you need to know today.

1. Labor Day Closings: In St. Petersburg the Labor Day holiday is causing changes to the city's trash pickup this week. According to the city, there will be no trash pickup Monday. Trash collections normally made on Monday will be on Tuesday. Tuesday collections will be on Wednesday. Other pickup days remain the same. Facilities closed on Labor Day include City Hall, Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, public libraries and recreation centers.Â
2. It’s National Skyscraper Day: Today’s not just about celebrating the working masses, it’s also a day set aside to recognize the fruits of their labor. On this National Skyscraper Day, the Glazer Children’s Museum in Tampa plans an event for kids to examine these marvels of engineering.
3. Do You Shed White from Your Wardrobe?: For the fashion conscious, Labor Day is the marker to say goodbye to summer wear and hello fall duds. Do you follow this longtime tradition?

5. Be Prepared Out There: Forecasters at the National Weather Service say our Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 2, should be a hot one in the Tampa Bay area. A high in the low 90s is expected with rain chances around 30 percent or so. Be ready for anything as you head out to those barbecues!Â
