17-Year-Old Boy Shot In St. Pete, No Suspects: Police
Police are investigating what led to a teenager being shot Thursday in the 600 block of 34th Avenue South.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Update: A 17-year-old boy was shot Thursday in the 600 block of 34th Avenue South.

One person was shot in St. Petersburg Thursday on 34th Avenue South near Sixth Street South, St. Pete police said.
Police have blocked off areas near 34th Avenue South and Sixth Street South during the investigation. Detectives are at early stages of the case, and information is limited at this time, Yolanda Fernandez and Sandra Bentil, public information officers with SPPD, told Patch.

"We do know the person who was shot has non-life threatening injuries," Fernandez said.
