Pinellas Electronics, Chemical Collection Changing Hours

The Pinellas County Household Electronics and Chemical Collection Center will reduce its weekday hours.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Starting in the New Year, Pinellas County will change the hours residents can drop off items at the Household Electronics and Chemical Collection Center.

The new operating hours for the HEC3, located at 2855 109th Ave. N. in St. Petersburg, will be Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The center’s current hours, Monday through Friday form 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. will remain in place through Saturday, Dec. 30. The HEC3 will be closed on Monday, Dec. 25 and Monday, Jan. 1 in observance of the holidays.

The center’s Swap Shop, which offers used household products like paint, cleaners and automotive fluids free of charge to Pinellas County residents, will also share the HEC3’s new operating hours.

According to Pinellas County officials, the change in operation hours look to optimize the county’s resources to serve its customers.

“The center will continue to provide the same level of customer service to Pinellas County residents, who are invited to drop off their unwanted household electronics and chemicals at the HEC3 free of charge,” county officials said in a press release.
