2 Found Dead on St. Pete Houseboat; Police Suspect Homicide

The two victims were found on a houseboat moored at the Loggerhead Marina; it does not appear to be a murder-suicide, police said.

Updated, 2:36 p.m.:

Homicide detectives say they do not believe this appears to be a case of murder-suicide, based on their preliminary examination of the crime scene, but that it could be at least several more hours before they have any updates on the two victims' identities, their relationship, precise manner of death or a possible motive.

The two victims were last seen alive by a witness sometime yesterday, a St. Petersburg Police spokesperson said.

The bodies were discovered around 11 a.m. Friday when a home healthcare worker arrived for a scheduled appointment.

St. Petersburg Police are investigating a double homicide after a man and woman were found dead around 11 a.m. Friday at the Loggerhead Marina, which is located at 5821 32 Way South.

The two victims, police said, were found on houseboat, which is moored at the marina.

Detectives have not released a cause of death yet, but according to the police report, police said it appears that both victims died as the result of homicidal violence.

Police said they would release additional details as they become available.
