Police Seek Information About St. Pete Man Killed In Parking Lot

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 27-year-old St. Petersburg man was shot and killed early Monday outside of Leanne's Rental Hall, St. Pete police said.
The victim, Eric Thornhill Chavis, had been hanging out in a crowd of about 150 people in the parking lot, 1566 16th Street South, before he was shot just before 3:37 a.m., according to investigators. Chavis later died of his injuries at a local hospital, authorities said.
