Sea Hags And Church's Chicken Cited By Health Inspectors
Soil residue in flour container and standing water on floor are some of the health violations found recently in Pinellas County restaurants.
PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – Soil residue in a flour container and standing water on the floor of a bar are some of the health violations that Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation inspectors found recently at Pinellas County restaurants.
International Wursthaus German Deli, 1995 E. Bay Drive, Largo, was cited for 14 violations on June 14, including dead roaches found on premises, such as a dead roach in oven; encrusted material on can opener blade; and an employee's purse found on shelves next to spices.
Tapz N Tapaz, 348 Corey Ave., St. Pete Beach, was cited for 12 violations on June 14, including a soda gun in bar area soiled with debris; standing water on the floor in bar area; and ice buildup in reach-in freezer.

Church's Chicken, 2195 34th St. S, St. Petersburg, was cited for 10 violations on June 13, including interior of oven with heavy accumulation of black substance; soil residue in flour container; damage to wall near soda machine, and floor tiles cracked.
Sea Hags, 4945 Gulf Blvd., St. Pete Beach, was cited for 15 violations on June 12, including clam/mussel/oyster tags not marked with last date served, and not in order; clean glasses, cups, bowls, plates, pots and pans not stored inverted or in a protected manner; and encrusted material on can opener blade.

In the last 30 days, 146 Pinellas County restaurants did not pass the first inspection while 164 restaurants aced the first visit. For more details on Pinellas restaurant inspections, click here.
The inspectors made note of 11 Pinellas County restaurants that passed inspections last week without any violations: Serenity Games, 9253 Seminole Blvd., Seminole; M-N-M BBQ, 401 15th St. N, St. Petersburg; and these eateries at Tropicana Field, 1 Tropicana Drive: Bud Grill 3B, St317 Fan Favorites, Sizzle, Bud Grill 1B, St211 Grand Stand Grill, Levy Papa Johns Port Upper 3B, Lead Off Walk, St218 Fan Favorites and Links.
Note: Most of the restaurants with violations corrected the violations and have passed subsequent inspections.
