See What's Happening In St. Pete For Independent Bookstore Day
Find out here which local bookstore will host a morning pajama party with mimosas, and which one will have waffles at Saturday celebrations.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Independent Bookstore Day is a book party day that gives you an excuse to buy another book and support St. Petersburg's locally owned bookstores.
Here's what's happening at our favorite independent bookstores Saturday:
- Tombolo Books, 2153 First Ave. S., St. Petersburg, will have limited edition swag and signed books and discounts on select kid's books. Teachers can also receive 30 percent off certain books. Pop Goes the Waffle food truck will be serving food in the courtyard from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The book sale will be in the court yard. If you want to shop inside the store, Tombolo does have limited capacity for safety precautions. You will need to make an appointment for inside shopping by calling them at 727-755-9456.
- Book + Bottle, 17 6th St N, St. Petersburg, will kick off the day with a pajama party while enjoying mimosas. Raffles, black out poetry and a scavenger hunt inside the bookstore will also take place. If you're not comfortable participating at the store due to the pandemic, they're making it fun for you, too, with a costume contest. Dress like your favorite literary heroine and post it to social media tagging Book + Bottle. (The winner will be announced on Sunday.) At 7 p.m., book trivia with Batman Media begins. A staff member let Patch in on a little secret: they will have a menu of coffee drinks and wine cocktails created just for the day that can only be accessed on their Instagram account. Book + Bottle is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Wilson's Book World, 535 16th St N, St. Petersburg, will be giving 10 percent off anything more than $50 in the store for Independent Bookstore Day. They're a used bookstore so most of their books are already inexpensive. The store is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
