Sons of the American Revolution Saint Petersburg Chapter hold April meeting via Zoom

SAINT PETERSBURG, FL - The Sons of the American Revolution Saint Petersburg Chapter held a general membership meeting on April 17th via Zoom. The chapter normally holds meetings every third Saturday of each month at the Saint Petersburg Yacht Club at 11:00 am, except for a Summer break between June to August. However, most recent general membership meetings have been via Zoom due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The chapter is anticipating a return to in person meetings in September.
The meeting was presided by First Vice President Harry Fuller.
The guest speaker was Freeman Lamar Tate, an historic interpreter at the Visitors Center from Kings Mountain National Military Park, in which he gave an overview of the history and the present conditions of the park. The Battle of Kings Mountain, fought October 7th, 1780, was an important American victory in the Southern Theater of the Revolutionary War. Tate advised that due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, potential visitors should check the park's website (www.nps.gov/kimo) about which facilities may be open or closed.
