Sons Of The American Revolution Place Flags At Bay Pines
Sons of the American Revolution Saint Petersburg Chapter and other volunteers place flags at Bay Pines National Cemetery for Memorial Day
SAINT PETERSBURG, FL - The Sons of the American Revolution Saint Petersburg Chapter, and other organizations and individual volunteers placed American flags at approximately 40,000 Veterans burial markers at Bay Pines National Cemetery on Saturday, May 29 in observance of Memorial Day.
Chapter President Brett McMullen and members Walter Arnold, who was clothed in a Revolutionary War uniform, and William Scott were part of hundreds of volunteers that placed the flags. Other groups that participated was the Daughters of the American Revolution, The Veteran Initiative, whose goal is to place a flag on every Veterans grave for Memorial Day, and Boy Scout Troop 340.
The Sons of the American Revolution is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to enhancing education, promoting patriotism and preserving American history. Members of the Sons of the American Revolution can trace their lineage to a patriot who supported the cause of American Independence.
