St. Pete Announces Thanksgiving Trash Pickup Schedule

The City of St. Petersburg also announced which municipal services will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – The City of St. Petersburg announced which of its facilities will be closed over or closing early the Thanksgiving holiday, as well as the adjusted trash pick-up schedule.

There will be no trash or recycling pickup for residential customers within the St. Petersburg city limits on Thursday, Nov. 23. Instead, Thursday collections on Thanksgiving week will be made on Wednesday, Nov. 22 for both regular trash and recycling.

Monday, Tuesday and Friday collection will remain the same during the week of Nov. 20-24. Brush sites will be closed on Thursday but will be open regular hours on Friday.

The following City of St. Petersburg facilities and services announced their schedules during the Thanksgiving holiday:

Open Thanksgiving Day:

Mangrove Bay, Cypress Links and Twin Brooks will be open on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 23.

City facilities closed on Nov. 23 and Nov. 24:

  • City Hall and Municipal Services Center downtown
  • Coliseum box office and business office
  • The Greenhouse
  • Enoch Davis Center
  • Jamestown Apartments and Townhomes office
  • Dwight H. Jones Neighborhood Center
  • Libraries and recreation centers
  • Sunshine Center
  • Sunken Gardens business offices

  • Boyd Hill Nature Preserve
  • St. Pete Coliseum (Gem, Jewelry, Bead Show, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
  • Mahaffey Theater at Duke Energy Center for the Arts
  • Municipal beach concessions stand (Gulf Boulevard in Treasure Island)
  • Municipal Marina Ship’s Store
  • North Shore Aquatic Complex
  • Sanitation department Brush Sites
  • Sunken Gardens attractions

The West Community Library at St. Petersburg College Gibbs Campus will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 22 through Saturday, Nov. 25.
