St. Pete Business Loses Lease Over 50 Cent Super Bowl Party

St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman​ said a Super Bowl gathering by rapper 50 Cent was "not safe or smart​." It cost the business its lease.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Sky Addict Aviation in St. Petersburg must vacate its location at Albert Whitted Airport after playing host to a Super Bowl party headlined by musician 50 Cent, 10 Tampa Bay reports.

The Sunday evening party was held in a private airport hangar leased by the aviation company, TMZ reported. Attendees were intended to wear masks and practice social distancing, but TMZ footage from the event showed dense crowds and few masks in sight.

St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman took to Twitter to lambaste the gathering.

"This isn't how we should be celebrating the Super Bowl," Kriseman wrote. "It's not safe or smart. It's stupid. We're going to take a very close look at this, and it may end up costing someone a lot more than 50 cent."

In fact, it did. 10 Tampa Bay reports the City of St. Petersburg has revoked Sky Addict Aviation's leaserevoked Sky Addict Aviation's lease at the airport.

Citing a termination letter from Alfred Wendler, St. Petersburg director of real estate and property, the Tampa Bay Times reported the company has 180 days to vacate the hangar.
