St. Pete Driver Dies After Losing Control, Hitting Tree

A 60-year-old St. Petersburg man was killed Wednesday when he lost control of his pickup truck and struck a tree.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — A 60-year-old St. Petersburg man was killed Wednesday when he lost control of his pickup truck and struck a tree.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 12:45 p.m., the pickup truck was headed north on Interstate 275 approaching 22nd Avenue South when it left the road, entered the median and collided with a tree.

The driver was taken to the hospital where he died.
