St. Pete Pier Will Host 1st Running Event 4th Of July Weekend
A 4-mile running course will be set up for runners that takes participants past some of the city's favorite places, like the Dali Museum.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — The St. Pete Pier will host is first running event, July 4, during the three-day festivities celebrating the United States' 245th birthday.
If you would like to sign up for the 4-mile course, registration is still open. The route will start at St. Pete Pier, and then runners will go to Bayshore Drive and head past Al Lang Stadium, the Dali Museum and then run south on First Street to the University of South Florida St. Petersburg's campus. At the campus, participants will then turn around on Eight Avenue Southeast and return to the Pier.
Two-thousand runners are allowed to participate in this inaugural event. A 40-yard dash is also included, and it will raise money for an ocean friendly charity, the city of St. Petersburg said. A nationally-recognized team that produces St. Pete Run Fest is producing this run.

The event is ocean friendly and will not allow single-use plastics or Styrofoams, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to cleaning local waterways.
