Update: St. Pete Police Find Dead Body in Alley

According to police, they received a call at 7:30 a.m. about a possible body in the alley behind a residence at 1610 27th St. S.

Update, 6 p.m.: St. Petersburg Police have identified the body of a man found in an alley Monday morning as 40-year-old Carlos Green. 
Police originally said Green died from "upper body trauma", which has been determined to be the result of multiple gunshot wounds. 
Green, police said, was released from prison July 1 after serving 15 years for manslaughter.

: The body of a man was found in an alley early Monday morning by St. Petersburg Police. 

According to police, they received a call at 7:30 a.m. about a possible body in the alley behind a residence at 1610 27th St. S.

Police said the black male, in his late 20s to early 30s, died from upper body trauma.

They are investigating his death as a homicide.

A resident on his way to work saw the body and called police.

The victim has not been identified. 

This marks the second time in 24 hours that a person was found dead with upper body trauma in St. Petersburg. 

Sunday, a woman was found dead inside her apartment at 600 40th St. N while police were conducting a welfare check.
