St. Petersburg S.P.A.R.K.: What To Know Before You Go

Summer reading program takes place around the city.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- For more than 50 years, St. Petersburg’s Library system has provided summer programming for children. This year is no different.

The Stories Promote Amazing Reading Kids Team will launch its summer reading program this weekend. Throughout the summer, the S.P.A.R.K. program will continue with Family Storytime and movies.

Here’s what St. Petersburg residents need to know before they go to the summer S.P.A.R.K. events:

Summer Reading Kick-Off Event

The Summer Reading Kick-Off Event will take place Saturday, June 11 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Main Library.

Family Storytime for All Ages

Family Storytime takes place June 13 through July 22 on the following days and times at the following locations:

  • Mondays at 6:30 p.m.: Johnson Community Library
  • Tuesdays at 10:15 a.m.: Main Library
  • Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m.: North Community Library
  • Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m.: South Community Library
  • Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.: West Community Library
  • Thursdays at 6:30 p.m.: Main Library
  • Saturdays at 1 p.m.: Mirror Lake Community Library

Family-Friendly Summer Movies

Family-Friendly summer movies will be shown June 14 through Aug. 2 at 1:30 p.m. at the Main Library.
