Sugar Hill Community Partners is one of two finalists for the Tropicana Field redevelopment project, and the team is holding a community event in south St. Petersburg to better understand residents’ hopes and needs for the proposed project.

The Tropicana Field redevelopment project will impact Black residents today, and for generations to come. The Sugar Hill Community Partners team wants to honor the history of the Sugar Hill neighborhood, explore ways to realize the potential of the site, and to make a renovated Tropicana Field a catalyst for economic growth, equity, and inclusion.

WHAT: Attendees can learn more about various aspects of the Sugar Hill Community Partners’ initial proposal, such as workforce development, affordable housing, minority business participation, and more. They’ll also be able to have one-on-one and small group discussions with team members like JMA Ventures CEO Todd Chapman and JMA Senior Partner Kevin Johnson, a venture capitalist, former mayor and former NBA star.
