Too Wild For Masks At 50 Cent St. Pete Super Bowl Party: Report
Mayor Rick Kriseman said in response to 50 Cent's "wild" concert that it may end up costing someone a lot more than 50 cents.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — Rapper 50 Cent hosted a wild Super Bowl party Friday night in St. Petersburg at a private hangar, and although masks were seen here and there, for the most part, it was COVID-oblivious, celebrity website TMZ reported.
"This isn't how we should be celebrating the Super Bowl," St. Pete Mayor Rick Kriseman tweeted on Saturday. "It's not safe or smart. It's stupid. We're going to take a very close look at this, and it may end up costing someone a lot more than 50 cent."

The video from the event on TMZ's page shows that mask wearing was quite scarce in the crowd, and social distancing appeared to be non-existent.

Tampa's own DJ Fresh performed as well and everyone was very clearly up for a wild and good time, according to TMZ. The news outlet reported that the party started at 9 p.m. and went well past midnight, and the rapper is scheduled to perform again Saturday night.
Health officials and Tampa Bay city leaders have asked people to stay home and watch the Super Bowl to prevent spreading or contracting the coronavirus at watch parties. Sunday has been referred to by experts as a possible 'Superspreader Sunday.' Web MD reported that doctors are pleading with the public to keep physical distance and have virtual Super Bowl events because ignoring those pleas could renew spikes in COVID-19 cases—a particularly alarming prospect given the new strains that have cropped up.
