Tour Historic Homes in Roser Park April 2

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – For the 10th time, several homes in the Roser Park neighborhood will open their doors to the public.

The Historic Roser Park Neighborhood Association will present its 2016 Tour of Homes on Saturday, April 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The tour will cover eight homes and gardens, including the recently renovated house on top of the hill above Brooker Creek and a new Craftsman-style bungalow built to the historic neighborhood’s specifications.

In addition to the eight homes on the tour, the neighborhood association will also provide guided walking tours of the Roser Park outdoor museum.

The 270-acre neighborhood is bounded by Fourth Street South and Dr. Martin Luther King Street (Ninth Street South) to the east and west; and by Booker Creek and Ingleside Avenue (11th Avenue South) to the North and South. Roser Park was the first neighborhood established outside of downtown St. Petersburg. It is listed on the National Register for its early use of community planning and development, landscaping, and architecture.

Tickets for the event are $15 before the day of the event, and $20 at the event. The ticket and check-in booth will be at Rondald McDonald House, 702 Eighth Ave. S. Free parking is available at the west parking garage of Bayfront Medical Center, 600 Seventh Ave. S.

Golf carts will provide transportation between the tour locations. Because of the architecture of the historic homes, the tour is not wheelchair accessible.
