TARPON SPRINGS, FL — AdventHealth North Pinellas held a groundbreaking ceremony for an $18.5 million emergency room expansion on Monday.
The expansion includes 18 private patient rooms for increased infection control and added comfort and privacy for patients and their families while they’re at the emergency room.
This project is part of a larger expansion of the main hospital at 1395 S. Pinellas Ave., Tarpon Springs. The main hospital exterior façade will be completely renovated with an updated design to allow the hospital to withstand Category 4 hurricane-force winds, enhancing the level of patient safety. Additionally, the hospital’s main lobby will be renovated and will include art by renowned artist Christopher Still, thanks to funding from the AdventHealth West Florida Foundation.
