Cross Diver Accused of Sexual Battery

Jared Alexander Alissandratos, 17, a 2012 Epiphany cross retriever, is charged with sexual battery.

A Palm Harbor 17-year-old is accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl during a party at his father's waterfront home on Chesapeake Drive in Tarpon Springs.

Tarpon Springs Police arrested Jared Alexander Alissandratos and charged him with sexual battery. The assault happened around 1 a.m. on Saturday, April 13. The 15-year-old girl had been drinking and was taken to a room to lie down, where she was assaulted, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by Patch.

"The victim did not give consent to the defendent(s) to have sex and the victim was not able to give consent due to her level of intoxication," according to the affidavit, which also said that Alissandratos admitted to having sex with the victim.

No adults were at the home during the party.

Tarpon Springs Police Capt. Jeffrey Young says the girl reported the attack to a campus police officer at Tarpon Springs High School on Monday. Two other boys may have also assaulted the girl, according to Young. The State Attorney will review the case to see if there is enough evidence to file charges against the boys.
