Discounted Pitt Bull Adoptions This Weekend

In the market for a pet? Check out this event.

Adoptions of American Pit Bull Terriers will be deeply discounted during a special event on Sunday, Aug. 17.

Pinellas County Animal Services  is hosting a pit bull "Pittie-Party" at the shelter to promote adoptions of the dogs.

Pit bulls are notoriously slow to be adopted from the shelter and many have been at the shelter for several weeks, according to the Pinellas County Animal Services website.

"But all dogs are in fine health with friendly temperaments and any one of them would make an ideal pet for the right family," according to the website.

Pit bull and pit mix adoptions will be $5 each during the Pittie-Party promotion and will come with a goody bag of special dog treats and accessories.  The special adoption fee includes medical check-up, spaying/neutering, vaccinations, internal and external parasite control, heartworm testing, microchipping and county license.

Pinellas County Animal Services is located at 12450 Ulmerton Road in Largo. For hours and more information call 727-582-2600.
