East Lake Girls Varsity Soccer Team Wins 1st Home Game

In their first home game Nov. 14, the East Lake High School Varsity Girls Soccer Team faced Seminole before a large, spirited East Lake crowd. 

It was payback time for East Lake when they posted a 1-0 win against this harsh opponent.  

The first half of the game was a defensive battle and began with a strong showing by the Seminole team. However, with their superior passing game, East Lake was soon in control and began to put steady pressure on the Seminole goal, but couldn’t convert on several close calls. 

East Lake continued the pressure after the half.  The winning goal came just three minutes in when Karina White crossed the ball and Indie St. George slid it past the diving goalie. 

Seminole was unable to retaliate due to some strong defensive play from Gabby Rademaker, Melissa Redfield, Margaret Woodward and Megan Kelly.  Some great saves by keeper Ashleigh Linse stopped the few scoring attempts that Seminole managed, allowing East Lake to hold on to the shut-out and win.
