Fire Tears through Tarpon Springs Bar

701 Tarpon Tap House is a complete loss after a fire tears through the bar.

A two-alarm fire gutted a Tarpon Springs bar, leaving irreparable damage according to authorities.

The 701 Tarpon Tap House was up in flames when firefighters responded to the scene around 6 p.m. Tuesday evening.

By 7 p.m., 10 News reports the firefighters were evacuated from the building.

It took firefighters nearly three hours to put out the blaze, with the Tarpon Springs Fire Department assisted by firefighters from East Lake, Clearwater, Dunedin, Palm Harbor, and Safety Harbor, according to The St. Petersburg Tribune.

“The cause of the fire is still under investigation,” Tarpon Springs Fire Department Deputy Chief Scott Young told Patch. Young says the fire left the building a complete loss.

No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze.
