Hurricane Irma Aftermath: Tarpon Springs Facility Updates
The City of Tarpon Springs announced when many of its facilities will reopen after Hurricane Irma caused many closings.

TARPON SPRINGS, FL – The northern end of Pinellas County is slowly returning to normal after Hurricane Irma pass through on Sunday, Sept. 10.
As a result, the City of Tarpon Springs announced which of its facilities were returning to operation or were still closed:
Yard Waste Facility
The Tarpon Springs Yard Waste Facility, 898 S. Levis Ave., will be closed until storm debris pickup has been completed.

Recreation Community Center
The Tarpon Springs Recreation Community Center, 400 S. Walton Ave., will be closed until Wednesday, Sept. 20 unless power is restored to the facility sooner. For updates, contact the community center at (727) 942-5628.
Cycadia Cemetery
The Cycadia Cemetery, 1005 E. Tarpon Ave., will be closed until further notice. Limited access will be available for funerals starting Saturday, Sept. 16.

City Hall and Library
The Tarpon Springs City Hall, 324 E. Pine St., and the Tarpon Springs Public Library, 138 E. Lemon St., are both open during their normal business hours.
Splash Park
The Tarpon Springs Splash Park, 508 Live Oak St., is open for its Back to School Bash until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16. The Splash Park will close after the event and will reopen on Wednesday, Sept. 20.
Tarpon Springs Recreation Division
The following City of Tarpon Springs parks will reopen Saturday, Sept. 16:
- Sunset Beach, 1800 Gulf Road
- Riverside Park Tennis, 833 Riverside Drive
- Dorsett Park, 500 E. Harrison St.
- Trentwood Playground, 1104 Windsor Hill Way
- Richard Ervin Park, 1700 Richard Ervin Parkway
- Tarpon Springs Dog Park, 232 W. Live Oak St.
- Tarpon Springs Exercise Park, North Stafford Avenue at Live Oak Street
The following City of Tarpon Springs parks are closed until further notice:
- Tarpon Springs Sports Complex, 150 Jasmine Ave.
- North Anclote Nature Park, 550 Old Dixie Highway
- Riverside Park Soccer, 833 Riverside Drive
- Sisler Field, 711 Meres Blvd.
- Craig Park (including the Heritage Center and the Craig Park Recreation Center), 5 Beekman Place
- Rotary Park, 400 S. Banana St.
- Highland Nature Park, 530 E. Highland Ave.
- Oakleaf Village Playground, Timber Lane
