Intoxicated Woman Breaks Into Home To 'Look For Her Boyfriend': Police

A woman was arrested in Tarpon Springs after police say she broke into a house at 4:55 a.m. last week.

A Clearwater woman was arrested on July 22 after police said they found her intoxicated in the woods near a Tarpon Springs home she had just broken into.

According to an arrest affidavit, Kayla Kempter-Maridon, 24, was arrested after breaking into a home on East Morgan Street.

The resident inside the home said she woke up to Kempter-Maridon "standing in the entrance to her bedroom." The woman quickly armed herself, which is when Kempter-Maridon took off through a window.

Tarpon Springs Police said Kempter-Maridon broke in through the same window she exited from.

When officers showed up, they found Kempter-Maridon in a wooded area near the home. She said she was "looking for her boyfriend," according to police.

After being read her Miranda rights, she refused to answer any more questions. Kempter-Maridon's bond is set at $1,413 and she was awaiting trial at the Pinellas County Jail.
