A road rage incident has landed a 69-year-old man in hot water.
James Birt was embroiled in the road rage episode in question at the intersection of East Tarpon Ave. and Ring St. on Aug. 20 when he walked toward another vehicle. He got out of his vehicle and started arguing with that driver, according to an arrest report from the Tarpon Springs Police Department. Â
The other driver told Birt that he was calling 9-1-1. Birtt grabbed the phone from the victim’s hand. The victim was eventually able to get it back and call 9-1-1.
Birt, of 815 Riverview Dr., Tarpon Springs, was arrested and charged with burglary. He was booked into the Pinellas County jail but later released after posting $10,000 bail.
