Man Who Fled Police Arrested on Multiple Drug Charges
Drugs were found in Hendrix's car after he fled arrest, police say

Kitran Hendrix was driving a 1991 Honda on S. Disston Ave. Aug. 29 when a Tarpon Springs police officer tried to pull him over to see if his driver’s license was current.Â
Despite the police officer switching on the patrol car’s lights and siren, Hendrix kept driving, according to the officer’s arrest report.
After Kitran stopped the corner of Disston and E. Lime Ave, the officer arrested him and searched his car. Inside the car, the officer found a baggie with traces of a substance that tested positive for crack-cocaine

He searched Hendrix and found a baggie of marijuana in his short pocket.
There was more to find. When Hendrix was being led into the Tarpon Police Department’s holding cell area, he dropped a baggie containing three grams of cocaine in the sally port.

Hendrix, 41, of 615 Lincoln Ave, Tarpon Springs, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine and fleeing arrest but later released from the Pinellas County jail after posting $7,150 bail. Â
