Sunset Beach Deck To Be Replaced

TARPON SPRINGS, FL — The deck off the west parking lot at Sunset Beach, 1800 Gulf Road in Tarpon Springs, will be closed for replacement beginning Monday, July 29.

The project is scheduled to be completed within two weeks, with reopening on Aug. 5. The existing deck will be entirely removed and replaced with a new, larger deck.

All other areas of the beach will remain open.

The area will be cleaned of debris and equipment for the Aug. 1 Sunset Beach Concert.

The free Aug. 1 concert will feature Shakes Society starting at 7 p.m. Concessions will be available for purchase. Alcohol and pets are prohibited. Parking is limited, so a free courtesy shuttle will deliver concert goers to and from the beach and Tarpon Springs High School.

If the concert is cancelled due to bad weather, it will be held on Thursday.
