Support Tarpon Springs Triathletes Saturday
The triathlon raises money for youth programs in the area.

This weekend is your chance to cheer on triathletes racing through one of Tarpon’s most beautiful coastal parks for a good cause.
The 24th annual Tarpon Springs Rotary Triathlon kicks off at 7:30 a.m. at Fred Howard Park, 1700 Sunset Dr. The competition, hosted by the Tarpon Springs Rotary club, is expected to draw in 600 competitors from throughout the Tampa Bay area. Proceeds from the event go to benefit children in the area.
Registration for the event ended this past Sunday, Sept. 1, but spectators are welcome and appreciated. After a quarter-mile swim in the Gulf of Mexico, the competitors will bike from the park into the surrounding neighborhoods, filled with bayous and beautiful scenery. Then triathletes will = run along the causeway onto the beach at Howard Park to end the race.
Want to catch the triathlon? Get to Fred Howard Park bright and early Saturday. The competition begins at 7:30 a.m., and the roads to the park will be closed during the bike segment.
