Tarpon Springs Police Investigate Shooting At McDonald's

A white car followed the victims onto U.S. 19, firing multiple rounds and striking the rear of the victims' vehicle.

TARPON SPRINGS, FL — Tarpon Springs police are searching for the people involved a shooting Sunday night in Tarpon Springs.

At 9:37 p.m., officers were called to McDonald's at 40728 U.S. 19 N.

Two people were attempting to enter the drive-thru when they were cut off by a heavyset black woman in her 40s driving a white Volkswagen SUV.

The woman got out of the SUV and approached the two people, stating, "You don't know my son."

A short time later, a car that may have been a white four-door Toyota Corolla with dark tinted windows approached the victims from the north side of McDonald's. A black man in his late teens or early 20s leaned out of the driver's side window and displayed a black semi-automatic handgun.

The victims left the drive-thru in an attempt to get away. The white car followed them onto U.S. 19, firing multiple rounds and striking the rear of the victims' vehicle. No one was injured.
