Tarponites Divided On Dog Friendly Restaurants
Although most Tarpon Springs Patch readers seem to be in support of the idea, there are always two sides.

Last week we ran a story about Tarponite, Nicholas Tabus bringing to light a potential business booster: dog friendly restaurants.
Tabus took advantage of the public comment portion of a recent City Commission meeting when he proposed the idea to the board.
"Frankly, many restaurants just have to turn people away when they bring a dog and that hurts the livelihood of many servers and restaurant employees around the city," Tabus said.
Patch readers commented with a number of viewpoints.
Julie R. was the first to comment with, "No question, BIG yes!"
Tarponite Deborah Frain wrote, "Yes, we would love it if restaurants in Tarpon were more dog friendly. They could always make an area in a restaurant which wouldn't allow dogs. This way customers who don't want dogs by them won't be disturbed."
Another voice of support came from Rosalie Ferreri when she commented, "yes :)"
Reader, Ed Holtzman stated that he didn't have a dog, but that the idea didn't bother him.
"I don't have a dog but it certainly wouldn't bother me. I've been to a few of the places in Dunedin and it's never an issue. The dogs are certainly better behaved than most children at restaurants," Holtzman wrote.
On reader against the idea was Federal Reporter. They wrote, "Would you open a restaurant at the SPCA? It creates an unhealthy environment. I watched pet owners dogs take a dump right near Captain Jack's in Tarpon Springs and the owner of the dog just kicked it in the water how gross is that?"
