Tidal Flooding Creates Mess On Tarpon Springs' Roads

Some roads in Tarpon Springs were flooded Friday afternoon with a repeat of conditions expected Saturday.

TARPON SPRINGS, FL — Motorists traveling around Tarpon Springs are being warned to watch out for tidal flooding in the city’s lower lying areas. As of Friday afternoon, several streets were flooded with more flooding anticipated over the weekend.

“Please beware of tidal flooding in low-lying areas of town,” Judy Staley, city spokeswoman, warned in a Friday afternoon email. “We are experiencing a ‘king’ tide that is significantly above normal.” (For more local news from Florida, click here to sign up for real-time news alerts and newsletters from Tarpon Springs Patch, and click here to find your local Florida Patch.
