USCG National Safe Boating Week 5/21-5/28

“National Safe Boating Week” Proclaimed in Tarpon Springs

TARPON SPRINGS, Fla. – Tarpon Springs Mayor Chris Alahouzos will be presenting a Proclamation to Auxiliarist Tom Tormey, Flotilla Commander, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Tarpon Springs Flotilla 11-9 and Joan Jennings, Flotilla Vice Commander, at City Hall on May 17th, 2016, at 1900 declaring May 21st to 27th as "National Safe Boating Week" in Tarpon Springs.

In recognition of this National Safe Boating Week - Flotilla 11-9 are holding the following events;

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 11-9 Tarpon Springs will have on display at the Sponge Docks (on Dodecenese) Saturday, May 21st from 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., featuring a 25-foot U.S. Coast Guard boat from Station Sand Key, boating and water safety informational materials, including safe boating gear and equipment on display provided by West Marine.

Flotilla 11-9 will also host informational tables at West Marine store in Holiday Plaza on U.S. Hwy 19 (corner of Moog Road in Holiday) and the West Marine at U.S. Hwy 19 and Tarpon Avenue in Tarpon Springs from 10 AM to noon on May 21st.
