TARPON SPRINGS, FL — A woman has been found safe after the Tarpon Springs Police issued an alert about her after witnesses saw her being punched and kicked in the parking lot of the Tarpon Springs Walmart.

Tarpon Springs Police officers responded to the Walmart at 41232 U.S. 19 Friday, Jan.24, after witnesses saw the woman being assaulted in the parking lot and then forced into a black SUV.

The couple later got out of the SUV and left the parking lot in a silver sedan that may have been a ride share vehicle that was called.

On Saturday afternoon, detectives located and took a statement from the woman, who is safe and unharmed.
