Buckhead 4th Of July 2017: Peachtree Road Race To Draw 60K
4th Of July 2017: Buckhead won't have fireworks, but that doesn't mean there won't be any fun (or run) to be had.
ATLANTA, GA -- The fireworks may be gone, but the fun will still be there in Buckhead for the 4th of July. More than 60,000 people are still expected to take part in the AJC Peachtree Road Race, an annual Independence Day tradition. More than triple that amount are expected to cheer them on.
Runners will take off on the race's 10-kilometer route from Peachtree Road at Lenox Square to Piedmont Park in Midtown. As for the firecrackers and Roman candles in the heart of the city's richest ZIP code, the festivities will move a little farther south. In May, the mall announced that it was ending its annual “Lenox Square’s Legendary Fourth of July” event. The mall said that it would be partnering with Centennial Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta on a new 4th of July celebration. Although no details were shared, attendees can expect the skies to be illuminated with firework displays.
