Adoption Agency Hosts Special Needs Fundraiser at Buckhead Church

Peachtree Presbyterian Church will be the location for the event hosted by Bethany Christian Services on Nov. 22

Peachtree Presbyterian Church will be the site of a Fellowship Dinner fundraiser for special needs adoption.

To celebrate National Adoption Month in November, Bethany Christian Services, a family preservation and adoption agency, will host the fundraiser on Friday, Nov. 22, from 6-9 p.m., at the church, located at 3434 Roswell Road, NW.

“We are excited to once again host our annual Fellowship Dinner to raise funds for special needs adoption,” said Nonyem Nwabuoku-Drayton, executive director of Bethany Christian Services Atlanta.  “We invite the community to join us in supporting this program and all of the children it helps to place with loving, forever families.”

The Fellowship Dinner features:

  • Catered, seated dinner;
  • Live entertainment;
  • Extensive silent auction including items such as resort stays, dining and spa certificates, and sports memorabilia;
  • Plus Sonny Perdue, Georgia’s 81st governor, who will address the crowd with a special message.

The former governor is a proud husband, father and grandfather. Married to the former Mary Ruff of Atlanta, the couple has four children and 11 grandchildren. Additionally, Sonny and Mary have served as foster parents for eight newborns awaiting adoption. The Perdues attend First Baptist Church of Woodstock, where they teach a Sunday school class for young couples emphasizing the importance of faith in building a strong and lasting marriage.

Bethany Christian Services of Atlanta helps more than 300 children annually find secure and loving forever families through foster care and adoption. Contributions raised through the Fellowship Dinner will allow the organization to continue offering support to local children and families.
